3D Printers and scale comparison

Few Years ago when my friend started using his authored / alternative method of sculpting some haters
 shouted: using a computer that is not nice !!!:) ...I also got a few nasty words :)


But now many producers sell stuff  totally sculpted by machine - 3d printer in fact ...without  a human touch ...and what ?


I wanted to try what it is and what it could be used. Simply created a woman body in 3 different scales for comparison .
Here is a result :

 Conclusions:
1) That is very nice fact that we can change a scale very simply and fast .
2) Used materials (polymer SLA technique ) was relatively cheap but still too expensive for me
.Good technique is POLYJET but horrendously expensive
3)I used very expensive materials but the surface was still porous, rough and not suitable to create a "master model" in order to continue copying...forgot about nice painting this ! I tried cover this by thick layer of greenstuff but that was a stupid idea .
4) I used this machine for creating most commonly used parts for figures such as skulls, sword's, blades,
treebeards...in different sizes. For now.

3D printers are very interesting machines (incidentally, the FDM 900mc machine series to some extent ... "self-produce", that produce components for subsequent copies! Almost ... perversion!).

Overmore this illustrative picture above showing us differences between models in 72 , 54, and 28 mm scales.  Sometime people asking me that 54 mm miniature can be used for 28mm wargame ?...I don't think so . Even if monster or creature should be bigger than 28mm scale human and so should be made in a scale of 28 mm with all the consequences as the size of the head, claws .. and other anatomical aspects.
Models in 54 mm and larger can be used as monuments/statues rather ... but haters knows better:) ask them! :)

With pleasure I inform You that work on the game "WARHELL" started.
The title fits beautifully in outline of the background that we created. For now, it is only a sketch, but soon we share with you the history of events beginning in year 2008 and brings us into the horrors of war AD 3.999.

and as previously mentioned, we started work on a  playing cards for this game.
This is long-term project , but maybe worth to wait ?

The War must go on ! Part one.

Looking around the web recently, I’ve noticed that it’s become very fashionable to create new games :)
I think this is a good trend for players, as it gives us all new options that may differ from rigid, existing systems.  And as the gamers test out those systems---the weaker ones will fall off—and this competition will be great for the gaming community as a whole.
And with new systems to play/test, new miniatures are sure to follow.  Both for the game and for the collector—and I will be helping fill those miniature gaps
Given that, I thought who better to ask then my fellow gamers on what they want or desire from games.
So, I’ve asked myself--What is the most frustrating element in existing games?
The most frustrating part of the existing games is a fact that I’ve never won a battle . Why? Like many of you, I simply do not have the time allowance necessary to explore the secrets of a more extensive rule set. My opponents have always been better prepared and more experienced and it’s tough to counter those odds (Without even speaking to dice!).
While sculpting and painting are very important to me, I would also like to enjoy gaming with my miniatures.  So even I would like a win from time to time!
Naturally I tried to gravitate to a game that would allow equal opportunity for both advanced and beginning players—and so far each system has come up empty.  Is it possible to create a simple but attractive rule set that will give a fair amount of fun for both starting and experienced players?  Perhaps I’m wrong but I certainly think it’s worth a try!
Many times throughout history, larger foes were beaten by smaller, less experienced forces.  This was usually due to the fickle nature of fate—be it a natural disaster, the environment, etc.  Thermopylae might be considered an example of such a battle---and even my own country has a history steeped in such coincidence.
So, to begin work on my project—the first steps are;
-Working game name
-Any reasonable background-fiction
-Figures
-Preliminary rules

28mm scale Giant Panzer Wolf

Here You are first picture of casted Giant Panzer Wolf.
Rider (Viking Lord) still not finished but I consider possibility of selling this miniature "with and  without" rider , for easy using this one with Your requirments. The legs are integral part of the miniature.

This is realy huge model and hard to say for this moment what size of base should be use - probably 60mm round base . Accurate dimensions You wil find on store pages soon.
Picture with rider should appear within 2 days.

SCALE doesn't mean SIZE

Most of my works are in 28 mm scale but they are higher than 28mm . Strange ?  :)
Miniatures are made with 28mm SCALE .
This implies that while the anatomy of the figure is made in 28mm scale every anatomic parts of body should be fit to the 28mm scale character BUT  Heroic Scale exaggerates certain aspects (Such as the armor/weapons).  Thus, certain portions of the figurine may appear more grand and impressive than true 28mm scale.  Future warriors have improved muscle mass, may consist a different bio-tech implants. S-F World  allows the designer to a very  wide discretion. The scale generally  describe model size that will allow YOU to  decide whether it can be useful or not.
This is a popular style in many science fiction and fantasy miniature settings, thus your miniature should be right at home on your tabletop.  The dimensions of each miniature are detailed in the model description.

This teaser is specially for Mike . He bombarding me with emails asking how it will look "Six Nil Six Factor" Mike  is very interested about this army (Biotech - Covenant). So, here You are ...and You can expect more units for this fraction soon.  This picture is only for better taste:)
Ultimately, the model have a needle in the head  , a fairly large backpack and ....mechanical wings :)
Tomorrow I send figure to cast, so I think that if the boys will try hard  next day should I have  first pictures .

Something different ?

New idea seems to be a quiet easy . Some kind of master for half-human half machines fraction . I see him as the  quite high miniature , dressed in a large cloak which conceals countless cables, wires, pipes, and strange machinery. Right hand with mechanical attribute of authority and left as powerful pincers. Some kind of backpack with life support apparatus and....wings maybe ?

New projects started

In response to the large amount of e-mails with a request for create figurine  of the "Great  VIKING Lord Bjoorn Northfist"  but in  28mm scale - yesterday I started work with this figure.  
I hope in a few days there will be the first WIP pictures. 
This is a good reason for simultaneous work with miniature I thought long time ago : 28 mm scale Giant Wolf with heavy armored rider-  for Vikings army.

Demonslayers Iron Chancellor Percivall WIP

Demonslayers Iron Chancellor Percivall work in progress ( about 50% of work) .
For some time I'm fascinated the faces of cartoon drawings- have a very big load  of "character" so, consider the possibility of equipment this figure in two interchangeable heads. One type of comics and second much  more natural. I think it can be an interesting addition. We'll see:)

Some time ago I started worki on a universal leader in the  "egzekuthor" type armor but work on Arcturus took all my free time, but now I can return to work and simultaneously realize two figurines. At the moment, I made two shoulder pads and blade of sword.
